Yet, Bordeaux’s recent reconsideration of hybrid grapes, experimental vineyards worldwide, and the work of forward-thinking producers are pointing to new possibilities for these interspecific varieties.” Elaine Chukan Brown ponders the potential of hybrid grapes in Decanter.

Elsewhere in Decanter, Bordeaux correspondent Georgie Hindle offers insight into what the en primeur experience is really like.

Antonio Galloni offers his thoughts on 2022 Bordeaux en Primeur in Vinous. “The best 2022s are magnificent, viscerally thrilling wines that show what is possible with thoughtful approaches to viticulture and winemaking. A number of properties at all levels made their best wines ever. But 2022 is not consistently great from top to bottom, so some selection is warranted.”

Southold Farm and Celler, which started in Long Island in 2012 and relocated to Texas in 2017, announced it will begin a slow process of closing in order for the family to move to Bordeaux.
